2013 Glitter and Glam Ends in Style

For the fifth year in a row, Glitter and Glam was a huge success and raised almost $40,000 for the dogs! The 4-legged models were dressed to the nines in Baxter Bailey & Co., the Corello runway show was hotter than ever, and the Hutton Hotel was packed with supporters as Kimberley Locke and Phoenix Stone co-hosted Agape’s annual dog and fashion show.

Glitter and Glam 2013

Glitter and Glam started on the red carpet, where our fabulous human and canine models were introduced to the cameras and media. Fox 17, Green Hills News, Nashville Lifestyles, 102.5 The Game, Nashville Gal, Nashville Key and others were onsite for a sneak peak of our 2013 hosts and models.

G&G-069Singer-songwriter, model, actress, and American Idol Season three finalist Kimberley Locke co-hosted Glitter and Glam with country music’s hottest rising star, Phoenix Stone. Locke and Stone, both big Agape Animal Rescue supporters, entertained guests on and off the stage.

The ballroom, generously sponsored by Genesco and Southern Veterinary Specialists, was full of fun things to do and see. The room was lined with various vendor booths featuring everything from gourmet dog treats by our friends at Bubby Bear Bakery to beautiful floral arrangements by Jenny’s Flowers. The silent auction tables were covered in incredible items donated by local businesses and artists and were more popular than ever…almost as popular as the Tito’s Handmade Vodka cocktails going around the room. Dulce Desserts provided a fabulous dessert display—the dog-shaped cookies were especially tasty.

As usual, David Allen of Music City Auction had the crowd bidding big at Glitter and Glam’s live auction. Items such as the team autographed Nashville Predators jersey and 2014 CMT VIP Award show experience raised over $2,000 alone!

Glitter and GlamThere was no missing the start of the main event! Rick Cabello of Corello started the fashion show off with a live performance of one his original songs. As he rocked the side stage, Bethany Sharp, Cassie and Gary Chapman, Chelsea Ogden, and our other fabulous human models were steamin’ up the runway in Corello fashion. Corello designer Melissa Core walked—and danced— in her own edgy designs. The canine models wore custom designs by Baxter Bailey & Co. and held their own rockin’ the show. It was a unique and unforgettable night on the runway!

Glitter and Glam wouldn’t be possible without our incredible supporters. We would love to say a special thanks to Genesco and Southern Vet Specialists for sponsoring our ballroom, Kimberley Locke and Phoenix Stone for doing an incredible job co-hosting the show, Corello and Baxter Bailey & Co. for making the fashion show possible, our human and canine models for lending their time and good looks on the runway, our sponsors and vendors for giving us the tools to pull off a first-class event, and our new and loyal supporters who attended the event. Together, we are making a difference in dogs’ lives! Thank you for your unwavering support!

Because we can’t wait until Glitter and Glam rolls around again to see you, we hope you’ll join us for the first ever Agape Animal Ball on Oct. 19 at Events on 3rd. It’s a great opportunity to dress up again, channel your inner animal (an animal mask comes with every ticket), dance, enjoy great drinks and hors d’oeuvres, and bid on incredible auction items from Jimmy Choo, Tiffany and Co., Elan Hair and Skin, and more! Tickets are available at agaperescue.org/introducing-agape-animal-ball
